A bit about us

Being a midwife is a great privilege and a very special vocation; caring for women and families during such a special and life-changing time is a role that we treasure and we aim to provide a level of midwifery care that exceeds your expectations.

Choosing North Surrey Midwives to care for you ensures choice, continuity and control; this is hugely important as it enables you to build a strong and trusting relationship with the midwife who will be there to support you as you move through your pregnancy and parenting journey.

Angela, Tami and Charlotte are passionate about midwifery and aim to provide a level of care and support that we would expect for ourselves.

Tami Wright, BA BSc RM

Independent midwife, hypnobirthing teacher and mother.

I absolutely love being an independent midwife, and feel so privileged to be able to truly get to know women and their families as they prepare for the birth of a new baby.

During my midwifery career I have worked for a number of busy NHS maternity units, but independent practice is definitely where my passion lies. I believe that women and their families should feel empowered to make their own decisions about pregnancy, birth and parenting and as such I keep myself very up-to-date on the latest research to be able to share with my clients.

I have undertaken additional training in Hypnobirthing with Katherine Graves and teach antenatal classes regularly for Bump and Baby Club.

I live in Farnham with my husband and two young daughters. I love the outdoors and all things crafty!

I am UNICEF trained in breastfeeding support, and hold certificates for Acupuncture in Labour, Maternity Reflexology, KG Hypnobirthing and Aromatherapy. I am a member of the Royal College of Nurses (RCN) and Antenatal Results and Choices (ARC).

Angela Horler, RM

Independent midwife, breastfeeding specialist and mother.

For as long as I can remember, pregnant women and pregnancy have fascinated me and during my first pregnancy it was clear that midwifery was where my heart was; however, it was not until the birth of my third child that I could no longer avoid my vocation to be ‘with woman’.

During my midwifery training, I had the privilege of attending midwifery workshops at ‘The Farm’, home of Ina May Gaskin and ‘Spiritual Midwifery’, which was – and still is – my inspiration, keeping strong my deep belief in women’s ability to birth their babies. Upon qualifying in 2007, I chose to work outside of the NHS so that I could practice holistic, one-to-one midwifery care.

I have 3 energetic and loving older children, a dog, two cats, and (most importantly) a wonderful and supportive husband who is as passionate about midwifery as I am! We live in Shepperton, Middlesex.

I am a qualified breastfeeding specialist and also have various additional qualifications including diploma in antenatal education (NCT), baby massage, acupuncture for labour, tongue tie division and am qualified to undertake the peadiatric new born examination.

I am a member of AIMS and the RCN.

Charlotte Watson, BA BSc RM

Independent midwife, baby yoga instructor and mother.

As well as caring for independent clients, I currently work as a Community Midwife at Frimley Park Hospital. I have gained a broad depth of experience within both the hospital setting (on the antenatal ward, labour ward and postnatal wards) and in community. I am passionate about providing continuity of care and working within a case-loading capacity, in order to achieve better outcomes when advocating for women and their birth partners and facilitating informed choice.

I live in Farnham and have three lively young children. We are very lucky to have many parks on our doorstep and love visiting new outdoors spaces!

I have worked for three level 3 accredited Baby Friendly Trusts, I have trained in Baby Massage and Baby Yoga, and have completed a certificate in Acupuncture in Labour.

I am a member of the Royal College of Nurses (RCN).
