What do you get?
Reflexology is a holistic, non-intrusive therapy which involves stimulating or sedating pressure points on the feet, which represent specific organs or other parts of the body. Working on these points transfers energy to the relevant part of the body, helping to restore and maintain health.
Reflexology is not simply a foot massage, but regular reflexology in pregnancy can be very relaxing and lowers stress hormones. It is effective for treating pregnancy and postnatal discomforts, stimulating contractions, easing labour pain and dealing with retained placenta.
Tami trained with Denise Tiran and holds a certificate in Reflexology for Maternity Practice accredited by the Royal College of Midwives. She offers single reflexology sessions for around an hour long treatment plus consultation. Depending on your health needs, results from reflexology treatments are often subtle and cumulative and so we offer a block of 3 sessions in order to maximise effects. As an example, these could be used for:
– Treatment for anxiety or stress antenatally
– Treatment for pelvic discomfort in pregnancy, including SPD
– Treatment to help the body recover following vaginal or operative birth
You can find out more about reflexology here (although note this is an American site).
Our fee for reflexology is £50 per session or 3 sessions for £135.
